Abstract

The present investigation reveals the importance and actuality of the didactic material as a key element to potentiate the learning of the mathematics of children in the 4th year of basic general education, it is noteworthy that, despite considering the didactic material as a teaching method widely used throughout pedagogy, it has not lost its validity and can be complemented with advanced technologies. The methodology applied was of a critical proactive nature with a qualitative-quantitative approach, with a documentary, field, and social intervention or feasible project bibliographic modality, it was an exploratory, descriptive type, of association of the variables, 1 teacher was investigated, 31 basic students, the results derived from the investigation evidenced the insufficiency of didactic material, emphasizing a repetitive traditional learning without teachers being trained in the use and elaboration of didactic material, a situation that significantly affects the Learning of mathematics and consequently educational quality, the investigation concluded that the teaching material is a key element to achieve meaningful learning, said material must be the educational complement that guarantees better student performance, it was also concluded that the current shortage of teaching material The way in which students in the basic room go through can be satisfactorily overcome with the creation of a guide to develop recycled teaching material so that savings and efficiency in the use of available resources are achieved.
