Evolución discursiva del cine ecuatoriano

Abstract

Film production in Ecuador dates back to the beginning of the twentieth century, since then the films produced in the country present narratives which have changed progressively due to historical, economic and social circumstances, both in the country in general and in the specific cinematographic work. The plurality and narrative diversification is one of the most present characteristics in Ecuadorian films released during the last 7 to 10 years, this particularity is the result of events and antecedents in the history of national cinematography which in one way or another have allowed new and innovative ways of expressing the stories that Ecuadorian filmmakers intend. This research presents a multimedia communicative product entitled "Narrative Image" through which the narrative evolution in Ecuadorian cinema is established and how these narratives have eventually converged towards diversification and plurality, both in genres and narratives. This product is built from interactive images that illustrate the results of the research in a dynamic and simple way, results that take into consideration relevant historical facts for national cinematography and interviews with various experts on the subject and their contributions.
