Estructura y uso del texto escolar Talento de la asignatura Estudios Sociales del Tercer Grado de Educación General Básica, en la Institución Educativa Particular Celestin Freinet del Valle.

Abstract

The present work arose due to the teacher depends on the school text to develop the classes, reason why, the teaching – learning process is focused on the text book.The work has the purpose to examine by parts the Structure and the Use of the school text “Talent” of the subject Social Studies of the third grade of Basic General Education, in the Celestin Freinet of the Valley Educational Institution, located in the Sangolqui parish. For it is development two extensions were established with their corresponding indicators. The first dimension make reference to the Structure of the school text, whose indicators are: the format, the content, the activities, the evaluations and the language. For the approach of this dimension the documentary analysis method was used. The next dimension makes reference to the Use of school text and for this the following indicators are used: frecuency, purpose, acceptance level, contribution to the teaching – learning process and coherence with the educational model declared by the educational institution. In this case, for the first three indicators the techniques were used: observation to teacher and students, interview to the teacher, and the group interview. Also, the survey was applied to parents. For the two last indicators the observation of the Social Studies classes was used only, and the teacher was interviewed.
