Relación entre el conocimiento tradicional y la diversidad de plantas en el Bosque Protector Aguarongo Azuay Ecuador

Abstract

This investigation explores the relationship between the richness of species that are in the forest and the knowledge that the communities have; the relationship between the Use Value Index (UVI) and the ecological importance index is also analyzed (EII). Results show that the community people know the name and uses of a 166 species, 82% of the registered, there was a positive relationship between both indexes for the animal food, construction and technological use categories, but there was no relationship for the medicinal, human food, ornament and veterinary use categories.
