Diseño del sistema de radiodifusión con el estándar DAB para la radio municipal Pacha del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito

Abstract

The Pacha Municipal Radio of the Metropolitan District of Quito, which is of a public nature, which distributes content of social, cultural relevance for the citizens of the cities of Quito, Sangolquí, Machachi, Tabacundo and Cayambe according to the regulations of ARCOTEL (Regulatory Agency and Telecommunications Control). This radio has equipment that meets the proper functioning of its coverage, for a future implementation of these equipment must be migrated to support the DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) standard, with analog technology a coverage cannot be reached where there are no inconveniences of climatological character and these cause several inconveniences in the specific receivers. In this work, the use of the DAB standard in this radio is proposed through the design of a broadcasting system that must meet the requirements of better coverage, lower power in its transmission, while helping with a new infrastructure oriented to improve the quality of transmission and reception, also to observe the simulations of the radio with its current coverage and the coverage with the raised standard, thus giving a better experience for both the broadcaster and the radio listeners. This results in a design where the calculated percentages are shown which is the spectral part of the current radio versus the DAB (Digital Audio Transmission) standard, resulting in the migration being feasible, taking into account the cost versus benefit.
