Nudos críticos de la interculturalidad y la evangelización en el pueblo Achuar.

Abstract

In March 24th, 2003 I landed on Achuar territory with the intention of “unlearn to relearn”. This essay delves into the accompaniment of the Achuar people to the evangelizing presence from the point of view of critical interculturality as an anthropological approach and decolonizing theory. The intention is to reflect about the relationship between Achuar’s cosmovision and culture, all under the process of evangelization through the interculturality of being at the service of a differentiated existence option. The investigative question is “How does critical interculturality-(de)colonization relate to the evangelization of the Achuar people?” This essay examines the need to unearth the original practices to criticize, optimize and characterize them, considering that ancient cultures have been reluctant to the colonizing content of Christian culture since they underwent a process of “raw inculturation” with a hidden purpose of conquest. It also examines the impact of evangelization of the achuar culture and the inculturation of the Gospel against the critical interculturality. The theoretical framework appeals to Catherine Walsh, Lewis Gordon, Martin Nakata, Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui, Pablo Suees, Yankuam, Juan and Domingo Bottasso.
