Transformación del periodismo ecuatoriano con la vigencia de la ley orgánica de comunicacióm (LOC)

Abstract

The LOC, regulations that took effect in 2013, have meant a change in the way of practicing journalism. The media and the people who are in that field must be more responsible about the information they transmit. The content of the information should be more accurate, without offending the honor of citizens and affecting society representative groups. Although the journalistic work must always be observed under these parameters, there are now specific rules of communicative content that are broadcasted. The law accomplishment and public awareness of its main items have also changed the way people observe and analyze sincethe society’s point of view. By knowing what is allowed and what is subject of penalty in the LOC, people tend to be more critical about the information they get. Then, what has been the transformation of the Ecuadorian journalism when the LOC took effect?
